Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, Kahaluu Bay has significant Hawaiian cultural history which also offers some of the island’s best and easily accessible snorkeling. This small patch of paradise known as White Sands Beach Park or Laʻaloa Bay is perfectly suited for beachgoers. It's official name though is Laʻaloa Beach County Park. Haleo Luau is an outdoor luau featuring a Hawaiian buffet and drinks, plus a live show with fire and hula dancers located in the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay on Ehukai St. Pahoehoe Beach Park is a Big Island beach with a shoreline comprised more of rocky pahoehoe lava than actual sand, thus it is not a good place for swimming.
